Garbage & Recycling
The Village of Shorewood provides a comprehensive solid waste program designed to encourage recycling and waste reduction, reduce litter in our neighborhoods, and ensure that waste is disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. Click here for a brochure that will assist you with the refuse, recycling, and yard waste program services in Shorewood.
All yard waste (grass clippings, branches, leaves, etc.) must be separated from household refuse as it is collected by a separate vehicle. Yard waste is picked up weekly, beginning the first Tuesday in April and continuing through the second Tuesday in December. All yard waste must be in biodegradable kraft bags or lawn waste totes that can be purchased from Waste Management. Plastic biodegradable bags and regular paper grocery bags are not acceptable.
Don't forget to RECYCLE! If your home was occupied before, the previous owner should have left the recycling bin for you. If not, please call Waste Management at the number listed below.
Holiday ScheduleGarbage and recycling pick-up will be one day late during that week if your pick-up date falls on or after these Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. For example, if a holiday falls on a Monday, Monday customers will be collected on Tuesday, and Tuesday customers will be collected on Wednesday.
